Born: Louisville, Kentucky
Professional: Desi attended the University of Connecticut by accepting a full-scholarship to punt and kick. While at UConn, Desi was a four-year starter and co-captain his senior year. He was a semi-finalist for the Ray Guy award and set numerous records for specialists at UConn. He was also the recipient of the Kendall Madison Award for being a “strong team player whose dedication, hard work and outstanding citizenship best exemplify the strong spirit of the UConn Huskies.” After graduation he accepted an invitation to attend the Chicago Bears mini-camp. He has had multiple workouts with NFL/CFL/UFL teams since, and continues to train for an NFL roster spot.
Coaching Philosophy: Desi believes in preparation and discipline to execute the correct way. When kicking/punting “practice makes permanent.” As a specialist, it is vital to practice and develop the proper technique that leads to successful results. The ones who choose to work the hardest get the most breaks.
